Naples Complete Streets Project

In 2022, the CRA accepted the final Naples Design District Master Plan. The Master Plan is a long-term planning document that provides a conceptual layout to guide future growth and development within the Naples Design District Area. The Master Plan emphasizes the importance of connecting the Naples Design District with improved streets, parking, stormwater management and utilities.

The vision for the project is an improved 1^st Avenue South, 12^th Street South and 10^th Street consistent with the Naples Brand, Complete Streets Policy, Blue Zones Initiative, Tree Ordinance, and 2014 CRA Redevelopment Plan. The improvements include lighting, landscaping, irrigation, and stormwater & utility. Thus, increasing the quality and safety of residents and business owners of the Naples Design District area. Different portions of the project will include different improvements which are listed below.

In November 2024 the CRA approved additional stormwater improvements to the project.  The stormwater improvements are consistent with the City’s recently completed Basin Assessment Project which reviewed different areas throughout the city that frequently experience nuisance flooding and stormwater issues.  The improvements associated with this project include stormwater infrastructure within a city owned easement along Goodlette-Frank Road discharging across Goodlette-Frank Road just north of Mariner’s Cove.

City Council also provided direction in 2024 on the Typical Sections for 1^st Avenue South, 12^th Street South and 10^th Street North which are provided below.

The design phase for this project is anticipated to be completed in 2026.
